Blueprint Snap

Sphero Blueprint Snap serves as an introduction to design thinking and mechanical engineering that gets students building, testing, and improving their creations from day one.

With color-coded parts designed with rapid iteration in mind, learners dive headfirst into exploring structure, motion,
and simple machines through hands-on play.

Ideal for children aged 8 and up

Blueprint Snap

Sphero Blueprint Snap transforms the abstract principles of mechanical engineering into accessible, hands-on experiences as students can go from idea to working prototype in a matter of hours. Students connect trusses, gears, pulleys, and other mechanical components while naturally developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The basic Blueprint Snap Kit includes 288 mechanical parts that are color-coded for easy and quick identification. The parts are designed to work together seamlessly to build large, complex models, while being durable enough to withstand use in a classroom environment. A sturdy storage box is also included to keep all the parts organized and organized, making it easier to get started at the beginning of class.

Each set also includes 15 challenge cards that introduce students to the different parts while familiarizing them with the building system. The projects are designed as 15-20 minute activities that help children quickly and easily learn how pieces connect and lay the groundwork for building more complex systems.

Progressive Learning with Blueprint Snap

The progression from Blueprint Snap in elementary grades creates a natural pathway to more advanced Blueprint Engineering experiences in middle and high school. Snap engages younger students while building their knowledge and confidence. The ecosystem by Sphero approach ensures learning builds logically from simple mechanical concepts to sophisticated engineering challenges, all without the need for a screen or programming experience.

For classroom use, Class Packs are available with 8 or 16 kits, providing enough parts for multiple teams. The kits are flexible and combinable, allowing for individual work, small groups, or on larger projects combining up to 16 kits.

There are also free lessons available that cover basic topics such as structural design, movement, strength, and success criteria. Each lesson has a structure that guides students through the structural design process step by step.

Teachers will appreciate the Snap Educator Guide, which provides implementation strategies, engineering tips, and extensions for each of the 15 challenge cards.

In addition, students can use the Snapopedia, a comprehensive encyclopedia of individual parts to help them learn how to use them properly.
