Tale-Bot Pro is a command-button robot designed for preschool children, sparking their interest in programming through fun coding games with interactive scenarios.

Tale-Bot

With Tale-Bot Pro, children can have a lot of fun while learning the basic principles of programming, including commands, sequences, and loops through play. The robot is programmed step-by-step using buttons, so its operation does not require a smartphone, tablet, app, or any prior experience.

Tale-Bot Pro can recognize specific maps or stickers using the OID sensor located at the bottom. Thanks to this interactive technology, the robot communicates with children during programming – all instructions and feedback are provided in Czech. Through its recording and storytelling function, it also helps develop creativity and narrative skills.

The package also includes an Activity Box, which contains 10 interactive maps with various themes designed to be easily understood even by small children (from visiting the zoo and learning basic math to exploring the frog’s life cycle or composing songs on the musical map). It also includes one double-sided blank map, allowing children to create their own scenarios. The booklet with interactive stickers covers 10 topics and serves to further expand the existing activities.

Tale-Bot Pro is ideal for cross-curricular learning – in addition to using themed maps, it can draw, read musical notes, and with 10 supported languages, it can also be used as a fun tool for playful foreign language learning.

Step-by-step programming for the youngest learners

  • Button programming
    Tale-Bot Pro has buttons that allow it to be programmed step-by-step. Children need to imagine the path and then use the correct buttons to make the robot complete the task. Smart program indicators help them follow the programming process and make it easier to correct and debug the entered code, as the LED light colors match the colors of the command buttons. Button programming does not require a smartphone, tablet, or app. Even children with no prior experience can operate it, and reading skills are not required.
  • Programming in the app
    The programming options can be expanded in the app, where children can try block-based programming with color-coded commands. Thanks to the puzzle-like system, they can learn which commands cannot be placed together because they “don’t fit.”

By default, Tale-Bot Pro moves in 10 cm steps, and the step length can easily be changed to 15 cm using a configuration card. This allows Tale-Bot Pro to be used (without interactive features) also on mats from other manufacturers (for example, TTS).

Tale-Bot supports even the wildest children’s ideas – it can store up to 256 commands, record up to 30 seconds of audio, and comes with creative accessories such as a pen holder and washable markers.

On the left side of each original map, there are fields that define the map’s theme and related tasks. Each time Tale-Bot Pro is placed on one of these fields, it plays the corresponding instructions (before selecting the programming mode, it is always necessary to identify the map theme by placing the robot on the top field first).

The colorful, intuitive maps are designed to be easily understood by preschoolers and cover a range of topics – simple counting, basic shapes, colors, fruits and vegetables, city life, and even one map that allows composing your own melody.

The maps offer up to 3 modes:

  • Instruction mode: The robot is pre-programmed to move across the map following given commands while describing each step.
  • Programming mode: Children must use the buttons to program the robot to complete the tasks it played.
  • Story mode: Children create their own program, and Tale-Bot Pro follows their commands. This mode is ideal for practicing storytelling skills and fostering creativity.

MatataCode App

If you want to explore more advanced options and introduce children to the basics of block programming, you can download the MatataCode app. It allows you to create programs from colorful blocks with individual commands.

The app is available for free on devices running iOS and Android operating systems.

Rechargeable battery

Tale-Bot Pro is powered by a built-in battery that can be easily recharged using the included USB-C cable. When fully charged, Tale-Bot Pro lasts up to 4 hours of regular use (less during continuous operation). If the battery is fully depleted, recharging it completely may take up to 2.5 hours.

Tale-Bot Pro is equipped with a power-saving feature that activates after a period of inactivity to conserve energy. In sleep mode, the robot consumes very little power, allowing the battery to last longer. To wake it up again, simply press any button.
